Problem with new project using old projects camera/controller settings (HTC Vive)

Hi there,
I just started working with Unity and a HTC Vive. The demo I made so far works fine for me, but shows certain problems when someone else uses it.

The other person had another Unity VR project set up where the camera was fixed and the controllers disabled.
When that person starts my project now, the camera angle isn't what it is supposed to be and the controllers aren't shown either though they should be active.

My suspicion is that somehow the old projects settings get used...
