I made an GearVR application which streams and plays 360 stereo videos of which each is 50 seconds.
However after viewing 4 of them, I get thermal issues on the Samsung Note 4. The app only consists of a EasyMovieTexture plugin and a native unity3d vr camera setup with 2 camera's to support stereo video.
The video itself is a bottom/top stereo 360 video, so I also only play 1 video file at a time.
I've tried a few things:
