Shadow Problem

I currently have my camera as a child of my player object which controls the player movement, look etc.

When I play the game with the camera as a child of the player object my shadows do not display properly:

If I just insert the camera a separate object the shadows display fine:

If anyone might know what would be causing the problem, I would appreciate it.
